duets
again... because these songs weren't uploaded by me, they have all been converted to 30sec samples... click "duets" to listen to full songs ^^
been obsessed with duets lately :D they're freakin' nice!
why i think duets seem to sound nicer than solos:
1. a dueting couple needs to have chemistry between them. i guess the chemistry is what makes the song stand out
2. a different kind of emotion from solitary emotions
3. the CHEMISTRY adorns the song with another kinda fu~ (fu = a bimbo pronunciation of 'feel' LOL)
4. brings out the idea of LOVE more easily/clearly/strongly, e.g. 轰轰烈烈的爱情, loving each other but not being able to be together... etc.
5. beats unrequited love songs imho(jolin, SHE, 半情歌, all okay... but lack that special chemistry i'm looking for in songs)
so... these are the songs in my playlist... if you think i should add anymore pls feel free to recommend (:
btw, the reason why i didn't add 心愿便利贴 is because i feel that... there's not enough fu~... it's too cute and tinkly lol. maybe it can do well bringing out the feelings of small/not-fully-bloomed "love".
looking for songs with powerful, emotional voices that can bring out the fu~ of the song. ^^
so this playlist consists of:
1. Ti Amo
err i think this song is talking about how a couple is inseparable because of love :) but lyrics a bit err 勉强, too many foreign "i love you"s. i like this song 'cos the female's voice is very outstanding. yanyalun's voice... not bad... but can definitely work harder, PLEASE snap out of the 花瓶boyband style!! but his way of twisting the ending notes... quite novel ;)
7/10
2. 你最珍贵 - you're most precious
i never really went down to analyse the lyrics of this song... well, obviously it's about love xD i REALLY like jacky cheung esp. when he reaches the high parts of the song, whoaaaaaaa i can feel the fu~ in every nanosecond of it. the female singer here is great too... quite powerful, esp in the last chorus when she sings the very high "YEAEA" omg lol. she needs to work on her pronunciation though. :S but she's definitely good. overall i think this song is 9.5/10
3. 屋顶 - roof
nice title lol. this song is just basically about 2 people who dream of each other & meet each other on the roof. o.o is THIS LOVE??? BIGBIG LOVE?? err... maybe fate? okay... guess the "story" in the lyrics is a bit unrealistic(to me), but Landy Wen is realllllllly great at singing, powerful voice(although key here i think is not that challenging/high enough for her to show her power). Jay Chou is just the usual jay chou. whatever ! -_- but at least he's better than jacky wu(ew).
8/10
4. 一眼瞬间 - a moment
as long as i can SEE you for JUST a moment... even if it's the last glance; it can help me get through a thousand years... i won't regret... even if love brings forward armageddon... we'll stay together, and welcome this beautiful fullstop!~
omg. isn't it nice xD i totally totally LOVE this song. i first got to notice this song in the CSS3 concert, when CSS2 benjamin sang it with Rachel(i think that's her name?). lol who cares about rachel. i like benjamin a LOT. his stage charisma... his singing... ohman. the power, the maturity of his voice. 深深吸引了我. he's GREAT. better than shawn tok luh pls...
ok... the original version consists of 2 very very very 很有实力的 singers. they are A-mei & Jam Hsiao. although in the 1st verse, jam's lines weren't very high... you gotta look at the frown on his face while singing every note... every note is full of emotions, sincerity... the vibrato of his singing... whoa... mesmerises me. and then, in the 2nd verse(after chorus), the last line... jam hsiao's high part... whoa. try it man. not everyone can do it... i like how he sounded in that last line... it's just so... undescribably touching...
A-mei = self-explanatory. she's like the Mariah Carey of mandopop. her high parts never fail to amaze me. i love trying to sing this song & trying to feel the emotions of this song just to sing it right(you really need lots of it esp in the chorus). but when they lifted the key one note higher, bleh. my voice starts to crack. GOGO A-MEI! YOU ROCK!!
9.5/10 (i'd love to give it 10/10 but i believe there are no perfect things in this world)
5. Against All Odds
well this is our class performance song lol & mariah carey & the guy who sang 2nd verse are great. ok... that's all... this is english... probably the first english duet i've heard... besides Toybox's songs...
9/10
